How to Grant and Manage Community Access

Giving members access to your community is an essential step in fostering engagement. Whether you’re granting access to the entire community, specific groups, or individual topics, ClickFunnels provides several options to manage permissions efficiently. This article also covers how to manage memberships, including revoking or banning access.

Once a member is added, you can manage their access, moderation rights, or even ban them from the community. To view a list of community members, navigate to the Community app and select Members.

The Members page has two tabs: All lists every member, and Banned lists banned contacts. Use the search and filters on each tab to narrow the list, for example by Email Address, Group Membership, Topic Membership, Moderator, or Joined Date on the All tab, and by Banned By, Banned Date, or Banned Reason on the Banned tab.

Select one or more members with the checkboxes in the All tab (or Select all), then open the Bulk actions menu and choose an action:

  • Add Group/Topic Membership: Select the Groups and Topics to add the selected members to, then click Add. Members who already have access are skipped.

  • Remove Group/Topic Membership: Select the Groups and Topics to remove the selected members from, then click Remove. Members without access are skipped.

  • Ban Members: Enter an optional Reason and click Ban. Banned members can’t access or interact with any part of the community that is not publicly accessible. You can unban them later from the Banned tab, which restores the access they had before.

  • Export: Choose the fields to include and click Export to create a CSV file of the selected members.

In the Banned tab, the Bulk actions menu offers Unban Members (restores any access the contacts previously had; type UNBAN and click Proceed to confirm) and Export.

Click Export History at the top of the Members page (or the Banned tab) to see exports that are in progress and completed, and to download each CSV file with Download.
