Selling With Products Imported From Stripe

Products imported from Stripe are sold through funnels and your store like any other ClickFunnels product, with one difference behind the scenes: the order uses your real Stripe price instead of an amount ClickFunnels sends across at checkout. That keeps your Stripe reporting, accounting, and automations lined up with what you sell in ClickFunnels. In this article, you will learn how trials and test mode work with imported prices, and how to resolve the checkout errors you may run into.

Imported products arrive hidden and non-taxable, so there are a few steps before they can be sold:

  1. Open the product from the Products menu.

  2. Make the product visible where you intend to sell it (your store, the customer center, or both).

  3. Mark it taxable if you collect tax on it.

  4. Check that the price you want to sell is visible.

  5. Add the product to a funnel page or your store as you would any other product.

Stripe manages the amount and billing interval of an imported price. Trials and setup fees remain ClickFunnels settings, so you can add a trial to an imported subscription price without touching Stripe.

  • The order summary shows the trial fee only. The first recurring charge is scheduled for after the trial ends rather than being added on top of it.

  • If an order contains more than one subscription item, they must all use the same trial period.

Selling an Imported Subscription as a Fixed Number of Payments

Section titled “Selling an Imported Subscription as a Fixed Number of Payments”

A recurring Stripe price bills until it is cancelled, because that is all Stripe knows how to do. If you want to sell one as a fixed number of payments — “3 payments of $199” rather than “$199 a month forever” — convert the price to a ClickFunnels payment plan before you sell it. Click the ellipsis on the price’s row under Pricing and choose Convert to payment plan.

The cap is a ClickFunnels setting layered over the same Stripe price, so the charges still land in Stripe against the price you imported. The conversion is only available while the price has never been sold, which makes it a step to take while you are setting the product up.

Refer to Converting an Imported Subscription Into a Payment Plan.

Stripe keeps live and test mode separate, so an imported price only works in a ClickFunnels test order if a test-mode copy exists in Stripe.

Turn on Sync imports to test mode for the installation (refer to Choosing Your Stripe Product Sync Mode). Enabling it also backfills anything you imported earlier.

If it is off, a test order shows: “The selected price is not available in test mode. Ensure it is available in test mode to continue.”

"Payment failed: A product in this order does not exist in the connected Stripe account…"

The full message explains that the account’s sync settings only sync products from Stripe to ClickFunnels. You are selling a ClickFunnels-created product through an installation set to Stripe → ClickFunnels, so the product was never sent to Stripe and Stripe cannot charge for it.

Fix: change the installation’s sync mode to ClickFunnels ↔ Stripe (which also sends your existing ClickFunnels catalogue up to Stripe), or sell that product through a different payment processor.

"We can't calculate your order total right now. Try refreshing the page."

ClickFunnels could not get an order preview from Stripe. Refresh the page and try again. If it persists, check that the prices in the order are still active in Stripe — an archived or deleted Stripe price cannot be quoted or charged.

"The selected price is not available in test mode…"

The imported price has no test-mode counterpart in Stripe. Turn on Sync imports to test mode for that Stripe installation and try the test order again.

A price is struck through or the product shows "Archived in Stripe"

The item was archived or deleted in your Stripe account and can no longer be charged. Unarchive it in Stripe, or sell a different price.

What does my Stripe dashboard show for these orders?

The order references the same price you imported, so subscriptions, invoices, and reporting in Stripe line up with the product and price you already had there.

Can I sell imported products and ClickFunnels products in the same funnel?

Yes, as long as the Stripe installation’s sync mode is ClickFunnels ↔ Stripe, so that your ClickFunnels-created products also exist in Stripe.

Can I change the price a customer is already subscribed to?

Not directly — an imported subscription price with active customers is locked. Click the ellipsis on its row, choose Copy price, adjust the copy, and hide the original. Refer to Copying an Imported Price.

Can I cap an imported subscription that customers are already paying?

No. Converting to a payment plan is only usable on a price that has never been sold, and it never changes billing for people already subscribed — on a price with active customers the menu entry is greyed out with “This price can’t be converted because you have active customers subscribed to it.” To offer a capped version, use Copy price on that row, convert the copy, and hide the original — new customers get the payment plan while existing subscriptions carry on unchanged.

Do discounts work with imported products?

Yes. ClickFunnels discounts are synced to Stripe in every sync mode, so discount codes apply to imported products at checkout.
